IT IS NEVER TOO LATE

In 1912, Joshua Millner   won  Olympic gold medal at 61

In 1955 Colonel Sander began the franchise of KFC at 65

I was with Ralph my old class mate the other day.  He intended to be an author, but never settle down to write  a book. I reminded him of how he always talk about books he wanted to write while we were at school. He made me realized that, it is too late for him to consider that now. Too late! how old are you? I asked. What if you live another 30, 40, 50 years? The time will pass anyway, but you will still be left unfulfilled if you do nothing.

Then I begin to ponder on how often we rob ourselves of our dreams and valuable contributions we could make in the world with such a flimsy excuse that ‘it is too late.’

Do you have a dream you have put aside because you think it is too late? Do you feel that the old dog cannot be taught a new trick as you consider that new course of study?

The door of opportunity is still open.

Many like my friend surrender their vision to oncoming years. They grow weary in strength and confidence as they age. They blindly close their doors to great opportunities before them.
All men and women of history have always believed that it is never too late. In every phase of life, the door of opportunity is never shut until one closes it. While it may require greater effort, deeper concentration, possibilities are always there for those who are confident and willing to pay the price for their success and development.

They did not fear age.

·      Taikichiro Mori, who was ranked as the richest man in the world in 1991 and 1992, started his business in his mid-50s.
·      Colonel Sanders began his franchise in his 60s.
·      Award winning British actress Liz Smith did not become a professional actress until she was 50.
·      Ronald Reagan was first elected to public office as Governor of California at 55.
·      Cato at 80 began his study of Greek.
·      Socrates learned to play piano with his grey hair.
·      Joshua Millner of Britain won the Olympic gold medal in Free rifle at 61.

All these people from the great roll of the famous defile years are voices of hope and encouragement to every individual whose confidence is weak.

Begin to do your best now.

So, where do people get the idea that if they have not hit it at 30, 40 or 50 years, they can never make it again?  Who set the time limit?

While you are living, you have the opportunity to make the most of your time on earth. Everyday is a new beginning. Get over the false notions about age and start to do your best with your dream and project at this moment. Do it in preparation for the future your thought suggests.

With old age are more wisdom and experience to your advantage. You can bring all the light of knowledge from the past to your aid. What if you live older than you thought? Would you rather continue to live with the regrets or with a living proof that you have made the difference?

It is never too late to fulfill your dream if you would do your best with it now. Hall of fame is full of people who defile age to proof to us that anyone can manifest his or her destiny at any age. What are you waiting for?

Get over the entire false notion about age, focus on your dream. Now is the acceptable time. The time will pass anyway; it is what you do with it that counts. Why not start now to do your best in realizing your dream?

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover."---Mark Twain

IN THE LIGHTER MOOD

How do these people survive???

ONE

Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets.
I asked for a half dozen nuggets.
'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter.
'You don't?' I replied.
'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply.
'So I can't order half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?'
'That's right.'
So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets
(Unbelievable but sadly true...)

TWO

I was checking out at the local Tesco with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those 'dividers' that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed.
After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the 'divider', looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it.
Not finding the bar code, she said to me, 'Do you know how much this is?'
I said to her 'I've changed my mind; I don't think I'll buy that today.'
She said 'OK,' and I paid her for the things and left.
She had no clue to what had just happened.

THREE
A woman at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly.
When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM 'thingy.'

FOUR
I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. 'Do you need some help?' I asked.
She replied, 'I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?'
'Hmmm, I don't know. Do you have an alarm, too?' I asked.
'No, just this remote thingy,' she answered, handing it and the car keys to me.  As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, 'Why don't you drive over there and check about the batteries it’s a long walk....'
PLEASE just lay down before you hurt yourself!!!

FIVE
Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, 'I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?' 'Just use paper from the photocopier', the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five 'blank' copies.
Brunette, by the way!!

SIX
A mother calls 999 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to take her kid to the emergency room, the kid had eaten ants. The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and he should be fine, the mother says, 'I just gave him some ant killer......'
Dispatcher: 'Rush him in to emergency!'

PROBLEM SOLVING TIPS

The only way to defeat an enemy is to face him. If you have a problem then nothing short of confronting it will give you the solution. The following are helpful tips many have found useful in solving their problems, you may wish to adopt them.

1. Define the problem.

You cannot hit a target that you cannot see. Before you can solve any problem, you must be very clear about what it is.  If there is more than one problem, list them in order of importance. Starting with the first problem, define and clarify it. Make sure you have no doubt in your mind about the outcome when the problem is finally solved.

2. Diagnose the problem.

Do not settle for the first definition.  There is more to a problem than it first appears. Let me explain. Someone with financial difficulties could easily infer that the problem is money. The next logical step for most people is to look for more paying job. Better paying jobs do not just respond to people's needs but to their contributions. It is now a question of having more skills and expertise which employers are willing to pay more for. Where this is not the case, it is to find time and resources to develop such skills. If one then use all his or her discretionary time sitting on the couch watching TV how could one ever expect to earn more money? Can you now see the problem?

3. Simplify the problem

Break the problem into simple steps. Take the problem of money as illustrated above.  If you agree that you need time to develop the skills necessary to improve your earning power, you could simplify the problem by identifying the skills and how much time and efforts you need to develop them. Identify your most resourceful time and the best time to develop the skills.

Analyze how you are currently making the most of your time and what you can do differently to put you in control of your time. Then list all resources you need and how you could obtain them. Identify all the steps you will take in solving the problem. Consider who could help you and how you would enroll their help. As you think about all these, write them down and the problem will become more and more simpler than you first thought.

4. Exercise your creative aptitude

Connect into your creative juice by imagining how you will feel when the problem is solved. See what you will be seeing, hear what you will be hearing when you finally solved the problem. Whenever you look at the problem, imagine it being solved. Now begin to think of all the possible solutions you can imagine. Whenever you think it write it down. Research and find out how others have solved this type of problem before. Before you go to bed at night, go over all the ideas you come up with.

Think about all the ideas with the belief that the problem will be solved. Wake up 30minutes early in the morning and come up with at least 20 ideas to solve the problem. As you continue to roll the solution in your mind, one fine morning you will find the answer drop into your consciousness. More often than not the solution would be so simple that you wonder why you have not discovered it earlier than now. But you must immediately act on the idea.

5. Take action.

Break down all your ideas into manageable actionable steps. Focus all your effort on one step at a time. Then one day you will find yourself among the champions and leaders of your generation.

Problems are part of living. Problems are made to be solved. You are bigger than your problem. You are competent. You have all the tools, and you can solve any problem if you put your mind in it.

Are you really serious about solving your problems?
Then, believe you can solve them. See yourself solving them one by one.

Identify the problems. List them in order of priority. Take the first major problem and simplify it.
Release your creative juice by pondering over the possible solutions in your mind. Take action.
Do something as you are prompted to act. Do one thing at a time. One day you will find yourself above the problem.

Yes! You can solve that problem.
